Cosmetic acupuncture can pinpoint the key to softer, more youthful
skin

If you are someone who longs for softer, more toned and youthful skin
but for whom cosmetic surgery seems a bit drastic, cosmetic acupuncture may offer the solution.
In contrast to the swelling, bruising and lengthy recovery often associated
with of plastic surgery, cosmetic acupuncture involves no recovery time
and little or no sensation.
Drawing upon the ancient Chinese philosophy that the body functions best
when all of its systems are in balance, the results of cosmetic acupuncture
reflect not only a change in external appearance but also an improvement
in total body health.
The two areas most improved by cosmetic acupuncture are the face and
the abdomen. A typical protocol begins with a consultation to determine
your overall health history and familiarize you with the needling technique.
Then, twice a week for five weeks, small hair-width needles are inserted
into specific points just under skin's surface to stimulate elastin and
collagen production and improve muscle tone.
Over time, fine lines begin to disappear, deep lines get smoother and
broken capillaries improve, as do skin conditions such as acne and rosacea.
In addition to enhanced skin tone and elasticity, women who choose facial
cosmetic acupuncture can expect reduced depression and less anxiety,
better digestion and sleep cycles, and fewer hot flashes and night sweats.
Those who opt for abdominal acupuncture are likely to benefit from increased
fertility and/or sex drive.
Some practitioners of cosmetic acupuncture have undergone specialized
training that is rooted in the Nei Jing - the ancient Chinese medical
text whose time-honored prescriptions stipulate the precise location
and configuration of ultra-thin needles that are inserted just under
the skin's surface.
This combination of specific points and needle placement is a natural,
synergistic healing technique that works without the use of electrical
microcurrent that accompanies some forms of cosmetic acupuncture.
How successful is cosmetic acupuncture? A study published in the International
Journal of Clinical Acupuncture showed that of 300 people who received
facial acupuncture, 90 percent saw marked results after one course of
treatment.
How long your new look will last depends on your lifestyle and whether
you are willing to address other areas that may need attention, such
as exercise, nutrition and stress reduction.
But at a fraction of the cost of other procedures, cosmetic acupuncture
is a sound alternative that can restore your radiant glow both inside
and out.
Your path to radiant health..
